"Patience is most important thing," says So Yeon Ryu
South Korean So Yeon Ryu said that the only thing that helped her perform well at Jamie Farr Toledo Classic 2012 was patience.
Speaking during the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) tournament held at Highland Meadows Golf Club, Ohio, Ryu said that she was more than thrilled when she finished her third round in impressive style as she was able to consolidate her position on the leaderboard.
She said that the field was pretty tough and she found it hard to subdue her battle-hardened rivals, but she did not lose patience and kept piling up solid score in each round.
Ryu was keen to point out that concentrating on her game has always helped her record a victory. She said that it is all about sticking to work ethic and patience.
“I think patience is most important thing. If sometimes I really want to make a win, I tend to concentration my game. I just thinking about the winning compared to some other players,” the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic winner said.
“So I think just keep patience and just thinking about my game, not other player's game, don't compare to other players, just thinking about my game”.
Mentioning her victory at the US Women’s Open she recorded in July 2011, the South Korean star said that she had been seeking to prove her mettle after impressing her fans at the major battle, but it took her a whole year to add another victory.
She said that winning her first major title at the US Women’s Open 2011 was nothing short of amazing because she gained much-needed confidence — something very important for a player to keep moving ahead on the LPGA Tour.
“Actually, after U.S. Women's Open I don't have any win. I really waiting my next winning. I want to make win tomorrow, yeah,” she said.
Ryu attributed her success at Ohio to her putting too, saying she could not have clinched her second LPGA triumph without making balanced shots. She said that putting is the key to a good game and she proved it by winning the coveted title in the United States last Sunday.
