.avi flle to put into a dvd?

Question

i want to burn a movie thats on my hard drive into a dvd r..

but i was wondering if i have to convert from .avi to something else??

If you want to burn videos or music on a disk, you can't simply copy them on the disc, or the DVD player will not play them. So, you need a DVD Author software, I have been using Cucusoft DVD/VCD/SVCD Creator Pro

A Simple Guide

Step 1. Click "+" button to add your favorite videos

Step 2. Click "Edit" button to edit the menu of your DVD

You just use a DVD Creator to burn them to DVD.

I know a appl named Wondershare Video to DVD Burner, it can convert various video ( AVI, MP4, MPG, MPEG, 3GP, WMV, ASF, RM, RMVB, DAT, MO) to DVD.

No you don't need to convert but you will need a program to help..try nero i use it to make all my dvd's all you gotta do is follow the smart start application.

I always use Cucusoft Mpeg/Mov/RMVB/DivX/AVI to DVD/VCD/SVCD Converter, it enables you to convert and burn any video file directly to VCD, DVD, SVCD, MPEG1 and MPEG2 format, you don't  have to convert avi to other first, you can free download it here
