  1. no its the sperm that does the work

  2. It is the sperm that causes the cervix to dialate. You do not need an o****m for that.

  3. There is no scientific evidence that shows that having s*x will reliably, naturally induce labor.  It is mostly an Old Wives' Tale.  Sure, some women will swear having s*x sent them into labor, but truthfully, it is most likely that their labor would have started with or without having s*x.  In theory the s***n contains prostoglandin, which is the same substance that is often used in the beginning of an induction to thin and soften the cervix.  The concentration of prostoglandin in sperm is not the same as the concentration in the chemically produced prostoglandin gel that is inserted.  Also, in theory, an o****m can cause uterine contractions, which can trigger real contractions.  I am mom to 4 who were all born past their due dates by 9 days, 11 days, 5 days, and 7 days.  I tried a lot of things to give labor a kick start, but nothing worked until both my baby and my body were ready for labor to begin.  I walked for miles, had lots of s*x, tried nipple stimulation, ate spicy food, did squats, walked up and down stairs, drove down bumpy back roads, and scrubbed floors on my hands and knees.  I was ready for labor to happen, but all I got was tired legs, a very happy husband, heart burn, a dirty car, and clean floors.  Unless you want to have s*x, I'd skip it since it won't necessarily make labor happen any faster.  Walk for exercise, but don't expect it to speed up labor.  Babies have their own time table and will come when the time is right.  At this point, he/she is calling the shots and you are just along for the ride.

  4. haha i have had s*x and it hasnt brought on my labor i have it everyday

  5. It's the woman's o****m that causes oxytocin to be released into your system which may bring on contractions.  The sperm contains prostaglandins which may ripen the cervix.  So they both play a part!

  6. No you don't its just the sperm but when i was pregnant i tried everything and nothing realy works they come when they are ready
