  1. Replace the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Do a search on Crankshaft Position Sensors problems AKA CPS or CKP for Cateras and you will find many Catera owners have the same symptoms as you and solved it by changing the crankshaft position sensor. The CKP are know to go bad in the Catera.
