[debate] science has brought more harm than good to the society?

i'm the pro side.

what did science do harm to the society in the field of wars?

Does science cause you and another person not to see eye to eye?  This is what causes wars, and I can't see how science has anything to do with this.  I do believe science today as far as global warming will cause harm to society because there is really nothing we can do other than give up life as we know it, and pay through the teeth if we don't comply.  There is only one person who has this earth under control, and I believe the way we live today is the way it was intended.  After all, it was Him who made the earth, and allowed progress.  If we were suppose to live like cave men, we would have.  Global warming does not exist anyway.  Changes take place and always will.

I do believe that science has done more good, but carries a caveat with this "goodness". A few thousand yrs ago man lived a terrible and nomadic existence. Imagine hearing a thunder storm or an feeling an earthquake as a "cave man" in 3000BC? Dude, that would totally suck!

Today I check my email and drive to work 30 miles away in a heated car and then microwave my breakfast burrito. Not to mention vaccinations and all the health care benefits. Even 200 yrs ago an average person in the US was lucky to reach 50 years of age.

But then there's the whole Hydrogen bomb thing. Although I don't believe any country has the power to totally eliminate life on Earth.. d**n a hydrogen bomb in LA, London or NY... that would be like a chapter of Dante's Inferno. Sorry to be kind of apprehensive, overall I vote for science.

It changed worldviews.It went from observational studies to a religion called scientism during the Renaissance.Science became god and along with it an amoral view of war and how humanity sets boundaries.The A-Bomb was scientists having darshan with the gods.

in war science products were use in war like bomb.. some science products are good but sometimes they had bad effects especially to our body. it can cause killing.. but sometimes the one to be blamed are us also who use improperly science products...
