The appreciation can be in expressed in multiple ways. It all depends upon the occassion and the purpose of appreciation. e.g. if you wish to appreciate your team mates for a 'match win', you can arrange a party and announce each contributor's name from dias, for successful thesis the appreciation to the supporters can be in form of 'words of thanks / appreciation, attached in the thesis / book, for successful completion of a project a small momento or gift can be a good way of appreciating the team members.
