i wouldn't consider myself to be mean, but i would say i would not allow myself to be treated badly and i do know how to defend myself!

the 'meanness' of a person becomes more obvious when they have power.  turns out women act no better than men when they have power.  because we are all human.  women are no better than men.  when women had no power, they couldn't be very mean.  now it shows more.

I wasn't aware men or women were "mean" in general. Of course, some people consider anyone mean who doesn't do or say what they want them to. I've been called "mean" because I disagreed with someone, even though no unkind word was ever said by me.

Men and women are different, and supposed to be. Sure there are mean people in the world....and there are people that do mean things (even if they aren't mean all the time).

A lot of people are out for themselves nowadays, and may disregard other people's feelings, but that doesn't necessarily make them mean...just selfish or self-serving.

The people I have close to me and choose to associate with (friends) or date, are not mean people...but all are capable of some amount of meanness if they chose to express that. Ya can't have good without bad, light without dark. We just tend to prefer more of the positive than the negative...it's human nature. ☺
