okay, so heres the story. i have a sidekick slide atm. i just got it on christmas. it broke, so we sent it back to t-mobile and they told us to ship the broken phone back. they said they would ship us a new phone for free. there were a LOT of complications. we were shipped a box that had clearly been opened already with no phone inside, called t-mobile, waited another week, and were shipped another empty box. obviously someone stole the phones out of the box. finally, yesterday we got my phone back and it was missing the battery. so we called YET AGAIN and after more complications we had to PURCHASE a new battery. my parents are simply fed up with t-mobile and its sh*tty service and they are saying that the next phone i get may NOT be from t-mobile. anyway, this whole thing has taken over a month. i'd really like a new phone. i was thinking of waiting until christmas or something, but id really like it soon and if thats the case i plan on paying for it myself.

how should i ask them?

  1. Just tell your mom what you told us. T-mobile ahs sh*tty service and you would like a new phone, Im sure she would understand since shes had to put up with this too

  2. wait until your service plan is up and then ask your parents to get a family plan with you and tell them that you will pay for your own phone  if you cancel your plan before it is expired then you have to pay to have it canceled.  so it is better to just wait.

I'd call t-mobile back up and ask to talk to a manager...keep track of all the people you talk to (and have talked to) so you can report to the manager all of this.  Or go to a t-mobile store and talk to them.

  3. Well if you have the money to pay for it, they probably won't have a problem.

Just ask them if you can go to the store and get a new phone and that you'll pay for it yourself.

  4. Cute avatar.

    Youu can....

    Verizon has the best service

  5. you have the money. Just say since I have earned this money I would really like to get a workable phone.

  6. I would start by doing some research and finding out which type of phone and company you would like to use and come up with a list of reasons why that company/phone is a good choice.  Then present the list to your parents and tell them that given t-moblile's customer service you'd rather get a new phone now than wait in case something happens.  Then tell them you intend to pay for it yourself and that this company/phone is the one you'd like to go with.

  7. If you plan on paying for it yourself then I dont think they will have a problem with you getting a new phone.  You should def pay for it on your own if you do get a new one b/c cell phones are expensive these days....personally I would just take what I have and spend the money on something better than a cell phone if yours works just fine now!
