  1. "Strengthen your Calf muscles and your Thighs !"

You can do this by doing some squats, maybe some crab slides- But really L O W !!- Maybe some "Jumping" for obvious reasons ? '') And you can do the "basic" exercises as well !

You can also (for defending) try practicing with a partner,  Jump at the same time with a partner, touching tips of your guys fingers..

    So yeah ?

  2. You can stand on the floor, or on a stair step, and you lift your heels up and down, controlled, leaving your toes on the floor or step. it strengthens your leg muscles.  If you did it on stairs you would have your heels hanging of the end.  For block, keep your hands really firm, and make sure there is not space between your hands for a ball to get through.

  3. Well, as for a spike, you should never be standing still, and then just jump. You should be standing away from the net a bit, and run up to it, in a curve. This way you'll get a good running start that will help you to jump higher.  Also, when going into your jump, it's really important to use your arms; swing them up from your hips, and not only will that help launch you higher, but it will get your arms higher as well.

As for tipping, I don't have any good tips, sorry, but when it comes to blocking, use both of your hands of course, so that both of your middle fingers are pointing up, and your thumbs are touching. Good luck!

  4. Do:

    Squats

Leg lifts (putting more weight on it everyday)

    Practice

Your going to want strong arms and hands too for the blocks and spikes. Lifting weights can help too.

  5. what you need to do is increase your leg muscles.. especially  your calfs..   leg lifts are helpful i have the same  problem.. go up to the net and do block jumps for a min then tuck jumps for a min. its hard but it will work..

    good luck with REGIONALS

  6. The best tip I can give is practice. Practice at home, in front of a wall. Pretend its the net, and put your hands up in a blocking position, and jump up as high as you can. Do it 20 times. o 3 sets everyday. MOre if you can... This will improve your jumping skills, and make your arms get use to being in the blocking position.  Also, when you block on the net. Curve your arms a bit, that way, you wont touch the net and get pts taken off. On spiking, play the bump, set, spike game w/ a friend. BUmp it to her, then she sets it to you, you respond by spiking it to her. Repeat to eachother and vice versa. Good luck!!!

  7. swing your arms also do jump rope. i heard that really helps

  8. If you really want to jump higher, you need to strengthen your leg muscles.  Jump over something (a box, a chair, etc.) several times running, then jumping.  Then do it by standing to one side of "it" (the box, etc.), jumping over it w/both feet together, then immediatly back to your original position, repeat several times.

Be sure you rest in between.  When you get tired, you tend to drag your feet and may fall.
