  1. just spread the seed and water it...it'll grow...daily watering for several days is required until it actually grows roots of their own.  Spreading burlap or straw helps to keep the moisture in too.

  2. put the seed down put hay over the seed keep it watered good to go

  3. the best way in hot weather would be to grow plugs of grass first.

get some seedling trays, sew the grass seeds and water. wait until the grass is a couple of inches high. trim and water again. wait a week and then transplant the plugs into the prepared lawn area.

  4. Yea, plugs and hay above are good ideas.  Do you have a cooler season, where you can wait and plant it then. In most of the US, it's best to grow the grass in spring or fall.

If this is impossible -- hot year-round -- then you can do it yourself, but it will take a LOT of personal attention and time.

For the first several weeks, maybe as long as 6 wks., you will have to water it several times a day -- like a minimum of 2 or 3 times a day.   Just a light sprinkle, not a "big puddle lawn" soaking.  Once the grass pops it's head out, then you can cut back to twice a day, then once a day. The it's time to cut the grass!

(So, you might want to do this when you are on vacation at home for a week or two, in the beginning, or have the "house caretaker" do it.)

A good trick is to soak your seeds before you plant them. Few people know this.  After you've soaked them, maybe overnight, then put them out on some newspaper to dab dry and separate -- you can't just throw clumps of wet seed on the ground!  And, always scrap, rake, loosen the soil before you put the seed down and put a thin layer of soil on top. ...and water.  good luck!
