Me and my mother-in-law got on fine ( sort of  ) until she fell out with her son and then did not speak to me. This was sorted , eventually.  After a few years I solved all of his little problems by divorcing him. It's a bit drastic but it was my way of objecting to him thinking his mates came before his wife.
