Is it for sale in Ireland yet? Where can I buy it?

You can buy unlocked phones here.

Essentially they are hacked to remove the things that block it from being used on any network.

Since no network in Ireland has the iPhone yet, this is necessary.

While it is not illegal to connect this to another network here  (Vodafone, O2, Meteor, or 3), Apple do not approve of this unlocking and will not support it.  

In fact, they actively try to prevent it by including firmware updates that block this.  

Older firmware ones have been hacked, but you cannot update your iPhone until someone provides a workaround for the new update.

The various network settings can be gotten from the internet.

You can buy the iPhone in classified newspapers, in the country itself.

You can find them being sold on www.buyandsell.ie from anywhere between €600 and €900.
