Second - Don't kill it as Many people find spiders repulsive and scary, yet the majority of spiders are harmless and beneficial.

Consider how much bigger you are than a spider  and that spiders probably can't even see you.

Although spiders typically have eight eyes, many have poor eyesight.

Spiders pose no real threat to us. In fact, you can appreciate spiders for their significant contribution to insect control.

Otherwise provide additional information.   What part of the country.  What are its eyes like.  Some spiders  have two or more prominent eyes with the rest much smaller.  Also what is large to you may not be large to me.  What coin would completely cover the spider and its legs.  also what kind of yellow markings, just the body or the legs as well. Was the body and the legs fuzzy.

here is a large fuzzy spider that could not be covered by a silver dollar(old ones not a susan B.)

  6. Yellow garden spider

The spider species Argiope aurantia is commonly known as the Black and Yellow Garden Spider or Writing Spider. It is common to the lower 48 of the United States, southern Canada, Mexico, and Central America. They have distinctive yellow and black markings on their abdomens and a mostly white cephalothorax. Males range from 5 to 9 mm; females from 19 to 28 mm. Like other members of Argiope and almost all other spider species, they are considered harmless to humans.
