  1. clonecd?  Just guessing.  You could have made it simpler if you'd specified what you thought you were downloading, but I'm guessing you don't want to confess.

  2. The .img file is a CD image.  CD data is stored in sectors on the disc and CD/DVD burner programs can read the sectors on the disc and put them into a file.  Depending on the burner program used, you will see different file extensions for CD/DVD image files like .bin, .iso, .nrg, etc.  If a disc does not have any physical disc copy protection on it, then the single image file is all that is required.  Discs which are copy protected must be burned with special disc burner programs (e.g Slysoft's Clone CD, Alcohol 120%) and extra CD information files are created.

The .ccd file contains special information about how some of the data on the image is organized.  Slysoft's Clone CD program uses these .ccd data files.  There are other data files out there with different file extensions too. (e.g. .cue,  .mds)

The .sub file contains subchannel data information on the disc.  Some programs hide important data there.

Now, to use a CD/DVD image, you can burn the image to a disc with a special CD burner program which supports the disc image format that you are using (e.g. Alcohol 120%).  Or, you can 'mount' the disc image with a virtual CD/DVD drive program.  Then you can access the programs and data on the image just as if you loaded a disc into your real CD/DVD drive on your computer.  You can create multiple virtual drives, and each drive is assigned a drive letter.  The virtual DVD drive program must be able to read the extra disc information files, so you just can't use any virtual CD/DVD program.

I recommend the free Daemon Tools Lite program:

  3. i think what you unzipped is a CD image, you'll either need to mount the image to a virtual drive or actually burn it to a cd/dvd, then you can install.  below are the descriptions of those specific file extensions.

img: Many programs use this file extension for image data. The image may be a graphic or it may be an image of a disk (or disc). The graphic file will typically be smaller than a disk/disc image file.

ccd: Contains information about the logical structure of the CD. The .CCD file is an ASCII text file. It is used in conjunction with the .IMG and .SUB files of the same rootname. IsoBuster can interpret these files directly.

sub: SoftNI CaSat Suite is a multi-channel, multi-platform, modular subtitling solution for multilingual cable/satellite transmissions, providing subtitles in most European, Asian, African, and Middle Eastern languages.
