Conrad Gozzo was the premier first call studio trumpet player in the late 1950s to mid-1960s. His tone and range set the standard for modern lead players. He died in 1964 but not before accumulating hundreds of credits from the NBC Orchestra to Billy May to Frank Sinatra. Apparently Frank Sinatra would sometimes reschedule recording dates to ensure that Gozzo would be available. The Leblanc Gozzo was intended to be a signature model but since he died prior to production, it became more of a tribute model. I believe it was discontinued some time in the early 1980s. They are excellent horns even compared to modern horns costing many times the price. I've seen Gozzos from the late 60s/early 70s in good condition sell for $800-$1200 on ebay.
