1. Just make sure you don't give your bunny anything that would give you gas if you ate it, i.e. broccoli, beans, cabbage. Their digestive system cannot "process" these foods and they end up with a killer tummy ache. (sorry for the pun!)

  2. VERY!! Unless you want your bunny to die of diarrhea, indigestion, dehydration, and other icky diseases stay away!! If you want to feed plenty of vegetables to an animal, get a guinea pig! They actually need the vitamins from the veggies, not rabbits! They retain their own vitamins and minerals.

  3. Vegetables can provide more nutrients plus water content for your bunny. However, be aware that some vegetables can give rabbits soft stools so try new vegetables one at a time. Also, be sure to rinse vegetables and leave some water on them for the rabbit.

Give your rabbits a variety of vegetables. Rabbits have more taste buds than humans and they enjoy their food. I give my rabbits 3 different types of vegetables everyday.

Lettuce is fine, but only the darker varieties like romaine have enough nutrients. Skip ice berg lettuce and the salad dressings!

Here are some vegetables to offer your rabbit and their calcium content per cup (less calcium is better):

        Beet Greens 46mg

        Broccoli 42 mg

        Carrots and tops 30 mg

        Chicory Greens 180 mg

        Cilantro 16 mg

        Collard Greens 218 mg

        Water Cress 40 mg

        Dandelion Greens 103 mg

        Kale 94 mg

        Romaine Lettuce 20 mg

        Leaf Lettuce 38 mg

        Mustard Greens 58 mg

        Parsley 78 mg

        Sweet Peppers 6 mg

        Pumpkin Leaves 24 mg

        Radish and Leaves 28 mg

        Turnip Greens 105 ml

Rabbits also enjoy herbs like mint, basil, rosemary, anise and others in small amounts.

What NOT to feed your rabbit:

Beans – None of them! (dried beans can cause a blockage, too)

        Beets

        Cabbage (can cause gas)

Coffee or tea leaves or plants (I lived on a coffee farm in Kona, drink it yourself and don’t give any part of it to your rabbits)

Corn (also, dried can cause a blockage)

        Green beans

        Onions

        Nuts (can cause blockages)

Peas (dried can also cause a blockage)

        Potatoes

        Rhubarb

        Spinach (high calcium oxalate content)

Packaged greens mixes in a bag (many contain spinach).

  4. no not at all

  5. No!! Defiantly not!!

  6. It depends on the vegetables.

Here, I googled it and got this website:

    http://www.mybunny.org/info/fruitveg.htm

  7. yes, vegetables are bad for rabbits. don't use them as a source of food. instead, use pellets and timothy hay. vegetables are good for treats in small doses a couple times a week. carrot tops are a good treat. oats and pineapple are, too. but the water in vegetables will give your rabbit diarrhea.

if you don't believe me about the digestive problems, go ahead and feed your rabbit a lot of veggies and see what happens. your rabbit will get sick and will not be able to digest and absorb the nutrients it needs.

  8. no there greathttp://www.hsus.org/pets/pet_care/rabbit... they need veggies for for vitamins http://www.mybunny.org/info/fruitveg.htm

  9. fresh vegies are great for bunny..some are better than others..like romaine lettus vs. head lettus

keep in mind, too much fresh veggies at a time can cause loose stool..that can be bad for bunny..

offer fresh veggies once everyday in small amounts(1or2c) and keep a good quality pellet food always avaliable..and of corse alfalfa hay every day too..rabbits digestion needs to be kept workin all the time..so they munch all the time.mine always love alfalfa horse cubes..and it helps maintain good teeth..

  10. no rabbits love vegetables and they need them to get all there vitamins, you should give them fresh vegetables and they will decide which ones they like
