    In the first question I assume P = purple, p = white and that purple is fully dominant to white. I assume this because it is usual to use the first letter of the dominant allele as the capital the the recessive gets the lower case.

    PP x pp =&gt; Pp

    The white parent, IF white is recessive to purple, is pp

    &lt;B&gt;

    For this part you are correct if Mendal was crossing the heterozygous first generation of the previous cross

    PP x pp =&gt; Pp

    He would be crossing Pp x Pp a monohybrid cross.

    Monohybrids give

    3:1 genotype ratios Purple (PP or Pp) : white (pp)
