Hi there,
I just want to lend my support, seeing that I am also a mom with a child with Bipolar Disorder.  I understand your fear and frustration with your daughter's behavior.  My son also has an addictive personality, like you and your daughter. He has gotten himself addicted to anti-anxiety meds he was given, so just keep an eye on your daughter, because it is very common for these kids (and adults) to self medicate their moods.

My therapy in dealing with my son's illness was to create a website just for parents with kids (any age--mine is 20 now) who have a mental illness.  You're welcome to check it out if you'd like some support for yourself, and meet other parents who understand what you're going through.  It's very important for us to keep ourselves mentally healthy while taking care of our kids.
