Question:

.net, .com, .org, .co.uk ?

I know .co.uk is from UK but what do all the others mean, if I was looking for a UK forum would the address end with .co.uk or not necessarily.

  1. well it depends. if you put the forum then "uk" after it in google it should come up with uk ones and sometimes they have a choice of country on websites.

    .org means its an orginisation. normally 3rd party websites.

    .com is normally american websites but can be uk sometimes, for example play.com is a uk website.

    Basically

    .net is Networks

    .com is Companies

    .org is organisations

    .co.uk is uk based.

    Its all mixed up these days as you can buy a domain from most places in the world.

    .co.uk should give you a good indication though.
