Question:

''no water''

Recently we had a ''cold snap'' with bone chilling weather. When i woke up there was very little pressure in the pipes when the water was turned on. I turned all the faucets on hoping to prevent the pipes from freezing. About 5 minuits later there was no flow in the bathroom upstairs. shortly later all the faucets downstairs stopped working. About 6 hrs later there was a tiny stream of water that came out of all the faucets but only lasted for maybe 30 seconds and stopped again. This was about 30 hrs ago. Can not find a plumber for they are all busy.
My question is 2 part.>>> We are on a well. How can i tell if it is frozen pipes or a problem with the well or the pump, fuse ,circuit breaker ,switch ect. I do not even know where the pump for the well is? And if i can find the pump what do i check? My plumbing experience is limited so i am hoping someone out there can walk me through the process of elimination before a plumber gets here and charges a hefty fee for something i could have fixed myself? Any plumbers out there with input would be much appreciated!
Thanks......................
