  1. Hi,

Defining Picabia's style in one word only is impossible, as he was an artist who throughout his life always played with ALL the styles that were around. So, he was in turn an Impressionist artist, a Cubist one, then a Dadaist, a Surrealist, an Orphist, an Abstract  AND a figurative artist. In fact, he scorned all labels and definitions that art historians try to attach to artists' works.

Your painting Hera is dated 1929 and at the time Picabia had just returned to a figurative style after having been associated with Dada and, later, Surrealism.

Hera shows traces of these passages and defies all attempts at easy labeling.
