  1. Detection of ovarian cancer is largely based on assessment of symptoms.  No test is currently available to detect it though research on biomarkers may someday provide a test.  Uterine cancer is totally different from ovarian cancer and can be diagnosed by sampling the uterine lining (D&C. I.e., "dilatation and curretage").  A routine Pap test may sometimes show evidence of uterine cancer but not a reliable source of those cells.
