  1. I know what you mean, my daughter is 2 and I already feel like that......just talk while the commercials are on....make him look at you and not the tv...

  2. welll when ur tv show gos on comeeicals  turn it to a show he looks to watch like cartoonnetwork or disney channel ok

  3. tape your show and watch it when he is in bed. Mine are 9 and I don't let them see my shows

  4. during the day I leave cartoons on and monitor them as well. Tivo the ones you want to see and watch them after they go to bed. That's how I got through that.

  5. I stick to Noggin usually to avoid those commercials during the daytime but when i do switch channels my boys notice certain ads and usually ask questions.  My oldest is 5 years old and he asks a lot of questions and I give information just not to much.  If you want to avoid the ads watch Noggin when your son is watching with you.

  6. You could change the channel during commercials or just mute the tv and distract him (think about it, many of the commercials that are awkward are because of the words not necessarily the visual). There is also the option of getting something like a DVR so you can just fast forward through the commercials.

  7. Ever hear of turning OFF the television?  This is YOUR child, it is YOUR job to protect him.  Is your watching television more important than your child?

  8. I hate that when we are watching Wheel of Fortune/ Jeopardy! and commercials for "Dr. Phil" come on.  Of course, the station has to sensationalize the upcoming "Dr. Phil" which is shown at 8:00 just after Jeopardy! ends so I/we have to endure hearing about the upcoming episode that is usually not appropriate for a 7 and 9 year old.

  9. I know what you are saying, some commercials should be in the TV after certain hours.  I was telling my boyfriend "They don't want you buying video games that have adult content for your kids, they don't want them seeing R/PG 13 movies...yet the freaking commercials are more sexually explicit than some sexual scene in the R/PG-13 movies I have seen."  ridiculous!

  10. i do! and i am in the same dilemma. i have 5 year old triplets and a one year old and i hate seeing those previews. i dont let my kids watch certain channels.. they are mainly PBS and Playhouse disney, but when they walk in when i am watching something i feel bad that they have seen gory or sexual things and i just quickly change the channel or turn off the t.v.

  11. ok, he's probably wondering if he's going to get in trouble for watching those things, if u dont want him to grow up watching things like that, quickly change the station to what you think is appropriate for him to watch, and tell him if he see's something liek that again to tell u straight away so u can change the chennel to something appropriate

  12. i know i hate all the commercials like right now there is prom night and stuff like that
