You are probably having a reaction to the ink used. Not all ink is the same and some of the cheaper ones tattoo artists can use cause reactions on some people especially if it is red.

There are no set standards or regulations on tattoo inks so there may be a filler in it that you are allergic to. See your doctor first, then your tattoo artist.
