  1. i'm not, but my friend was

she says that she liked it, but now she goes to school and she likes going to school better

  2. It is soooooo cool, and enjoyable and fun and great, i don't see why people say it is horrible, maybe because they've never tried it, idk, I THINK IT'S THE BEST.

  3. I started to homeschool at 15 and now I'm 18.  At first I only homeschooled during the summer because I was bored.  I took online classes with www.flvs.net.  It was alright, but I didn't like having to keep up with a teacher.  Finally I started to homeschool full time instead of just during the summer.  I also homeschool with books from Penn Foster.  I like it much better because I don't have to keep up with a teacher.  I get my work done a lot faster, too.  I do a lot of stuff, like star mapping during the night.  I also play the alto sax and now learning the violin.  I taught myself how to play both instruments.  There are also other kids that homeschool in my community.  We sometimes go to the library to do our work.  I spend about 1-2 hours doing school work each day.  The rest of the day I keep myself entertained with movies, games, music, reading, video games, writing, thinking, etc.  There's so much to do and so little time.  I live a bit far from everything, so I would need to travel for about 20-30min just to get somewhere. lol.  But I like being homeschooled.  I'm not 18 and finishing up.

  4. im home schooled....i love it.....and it wierds me out when ppl say it must be horrible not being round ur friends or u must get really bored....honestly u still get 2 c ur friends but u have more range of friends older and younger not just the same age and u get to do heaps of fun stuff even more fun then school

  5. I go to an online school.. Its alot like being homeschooled.

I love it.. Why would I want to wake up early, get all fancied up, go to school, and only have so much time per class to learn?

I love being at home all the time and I can spend as much time on one subject at a time.

  6. I know a 13yo and a 16yo, a couple of homeschooled siblings we see regularly. They were in the school system before being homeschooled and also have public schooled friends due to their sports training (which is 3 evenings a week plus all-day Saturday). They remember what it was like and they hear what it's like and are VERY happy to be homeschooling. The 16yo was able to jump from a gr. 4 level in reading and writing to a gr. 9 level in less than 3 years (she was at a gr. 4 level when she was pulled out of school to start homeschooling in gr. 7). She loves being able to go her own pace, loves having the chance to explore things of interest, loves being able to NOT have homework those 3 evenings a week where she'd have no chance of doing homework (their time from 4pm-9pm is basically booked with supper, travel time to sports and getting back home).

Her brother loves that he's in an environment that doesn't stress him out (he had been put on Celexa, an anti-anxiety drug, when he was 7 and in school), that he isn't being bullied, that he doesn't have a teacher who punishes the class constantly, and more.

How it's like may not be like how homeschooling would be for you. It all depends on how the parents are, how they go about it and how the kids are. It's kind of like asking what it's like living in a family--each one is different, right? Same thing for homeschooling.

  7. im 14.

i love being homeschooled. itts really fun, and you can make your own schedule. dont listen to those people that say that its torture not seing their friends.

i am taking an art class at a high school, and i could see how people miss their friends, but if you meet people in clubs and stuff ouside of school, espeacily if they are also homeschooled, then you will find that alot of them are more sincere friends than people in public/private schools.

  8. no

  9. Hi,

I am 18 so a little older than you asked but I don't think it matters.

I have been home schooled for ten years and it's not that bad any more. I did not like it at first. I went to kindergarten and first grade in public school but we had to leave the school system. My brother is autistic and the school would not provide an aide for years. So after a long legal battle we went to home schooling. My grandparents think we are not social enough but I have several friends, some are from public school. So home schooling is ok, but I only have until May and I graduate.

Hope that helps. I had one friend who went to home schooling but went back to public school the next year. And the school system told her she would have to be held back a year. But I think that was mostly the school.

  10. no, it must be horrible not being around your friends

  11. I'm homeschooled, and I love it.

I had to deal with both emotional and physical bullying, so being away from that kind of environment makes me a lot happier.

Also, I find I learn a lot more without the distractions of a classroom.

Not to mention the peer pressure to do things like drugs, drinking alcohol, or smoking.

And, not all homeschoolers are hermits.

If you go through something like Distance Education, you get the oppurtunity to meet other kids in the same situation as you.

Or if you don't take that, it's always fun to try art lessons, or dance lessons, or something like that.
