I am a middle and high school science teacher. Kids: tell me what NOT to do in the classroom.

What do teachers do that you like? (rules, policies, procedures....).

How do you wish teachers would handle those kids who are always interrupting?

If you;re the kid that interrupts class - why do you do it and what do I do to make you stop?

PLEASE only helpful, serious answers......I am serious about this.

  1. Good question.. If you put this is polls & survey more people would answer lol trust me.

I used to hate the teacher that didn't listen to kids' opinions because she just HAD to do it her way. Make sure you speak loud and clear so people can actually tell what you're saying without effort. Kids interrupt class because they have something to say.( something ususally random, and fun for them ) I don't know what to say to them. Depends what he/she said.

  2. 1) Don't Waste Time Yelling At Kids Because You Have A Small Amount Of Time To Teach Just Send Them Out Or Something , My Math Teacher Did That And I Failed A Very Important Test.

2)Be Nice But Still Strict Let Them Know Not To Cross A Certain Line.

That's All I Can Think Of

  3. teachers that understand students and really care. rules and policies should never be too tight, just stuff that you know that ur not supposed to do. I wish they would punish them, not by giving them detentions, because that never seems to work, but by giving them extra hw or something, and threatening to fail them or something, that will atleast KIND OF make them care

  4. dont yell at a student that didnt do anything wrong

that always happens to me with my Social Studies Teacher. Like for one small reason like throwing a pen to a friend right across from me because she needed it is what i get in trouble for! ahh frustrated

  5. GOOD QUESTION!!!

Ok heres what not to do, YELL, or scream, or point people out directly to ask them questions, or to humilate them.

My favorite teachers are the ones that can joke around and interact with the kids on there level but also know how to teach it in a fun way. Like games or experiments to get it across. We had a teacher last year that EVERYONE hated because one day she would come in screaming and yelling and in a really bad mood. Then the next day she would come in all happy and calling us "lovlies" and "my loves" so... I would personally suggest some of the things I told yoU! have fun!

  6. 1) if a kid is disrupting, NEVER humilate him/her infront of class. it will lower his confidence and he will never attend class or like you as his/her teacher. Be firm but soft at the same time. Give warnings and if all else fails, arrange to meet him/her after school and give him some counselling( cant spell the word).

    2) Always praise/reward as much as you punish. Be fair in your rewards and punishments. But keep in mind, never bring a kid down. Encourage him, guide him, and teach him.

    3) Ensure that your lessons are not too boring. Spice things up by asking questions and giving out sweets as rewards for getting questions correct or just simply give them sweets for making the effort to answer your question.  A KID WILL HATE A BORING TEACHER.

and MORALE OF THE STORY: PATIENCE

    Good luck
