  1. The interaction between European and Native American peoples transformed both cultures greatly.  The Native Americans were controlled and lost much of their land and history.  They became controlled by the white man and his government and still are today.  The Europeans gained land and power and control.  It helped them on their conquest of the world.

  2. both cultures were transformed significantly

Native Americans were plague with diseases that Europeans brought from Europe, such as small pox, which greatly decimated native populations.  Europeans defeated many many of the Native empires and took control over their land.  Cortes defeated the Aztecs and Pizarro defeated the Incas and those lands were taken over by the Spanish crown.  Many natives were force to work for the Europeans in silver and gold mines in the New World.  The introduction of Christianity by Europeans was forced upon natives.

Europeans were also greatly transformed by the native americans.  There are many crops that were grown in the Americas that were previously unknown to European populations.  Food such potatoes, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, lima beans, etc. which found there way into European cuisine.  Many of these crops, especially potatoes, had a large factor to play in later European population growth.  The fast influx of silver, from spanish silver mines, led to inflation in Europe.  also it is highly believe, but not proven, that relations between natives and europeans led to syphilis being introduce Europe.  Also
