" The Butterfly Effect" Is this hypothesis wrong? I'll give you my reasons to believe it's wrong.?

This hypothesis claims that the butterfly's wings can effect the weather due to the small wind turbulance it creats and this action may increase into a storm or hurrican.

Well, if you throw a rock into the ocean, will this action creat flooding or a psunami? of course not, because the ocean is too big to be affected.

Tharefore, the atmostphere is too huge to be affected by a butterfly. Not even a million butterflies can have an effect on the weather.

Even if you throw a boulder into the ocean, it will have no effect on tidal waves or a rise in sea levels.

That's why I believe that the "Butterfly Effect Hypothesis" in wrong.

Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks for your time..

  1. The whole analogy, is saying that a butterfly is a tiny creature with so many intricate parts, yet if you change just one part, the whole creature is affected.

Thus, our life is made up of so many things, but if you change just one of these things, the rest of our life can be affected by that one event.

    :)

  2. The "Butterfly Effect" is not about a butterfly flapping its wings and causing a hurricane somewhere halfway around the world. It is a parable story for the idea behind the butterfly effect:  That a small, seemingly irrelevant event can cause a chain reaction of other events, the sum of which can result in a major event. The theory holds some weight, as one could argue that the HIV/AIDS epidemic is the result of an isolated incident that spread worldwide.
