Question:

"..all N*****s are liars, thieves and murderers" To Kill a Mockingbird quote query?

As for my essay for my English class, I am currently revising an essay about To Kill a Mockingbird.

Anyway, my question is that I once used a quote and was not sure whether or not it was from the book or not.

The (presumed) quote goes as follows: ( to get a better understanding, the passage is included)

[Additionally, because it was assumed that,"... all Negroes are liars, thieves and murderers," most of the townspeople, especially Bob Ewell, thought to defend Tom was considered useless and out of the question.]

Was the quote ever used in the book? (I currently do not have a copy of it at the moment)

Are there any grammatical/mechanical errors in my sentence - such as the comma after "murderers"?

Is there any citation needed? If so, where can I find some information to revise my sentence?

Thank you for your time.
