"Am I Pregnant" Question... Silly.?

Question

Why do so many people ask Yahoo Answers if they're pregnant? How is anyone here going to know? I mean, There's a reason pharmacies sell pregnancy tests... The responses are usually, "Go take a test" but people continuously ask this same question, and it's so silly to ask! How would *we* know if *you* are pregnant??? *You* need to buy a test and then you'll know!!

I just want to know other people's opinions on this.

i have thought about writing this so many times!it is so annoying..people ask this all the time and just as you said how the **** are we supposed to know?and even if they do say things that really sound like pregnancy symptoms there still could be other explanations..it is very annoying..i hate when i see those questions..even if they just want opinions it is still hard to tell we don't know them at all..

They are really silly. I try to always answer them with, "Of course it is possible that you are pregnant. There is a chance every time you have s*x. Wait until your period is due before taking a test, or call the doctor for a blood test" It's annoying because the only way not to get pregnant is to not have s*x, regardless of precautionary measures like contraceptives and condoms. (or if you are on your period, etc etc It might be rare, but it can still happen!)

Maybe the people asking the questions suspect they may be pregnant and are too early to find out with a pregnancy test.  perhaps they have taken a test and either really *want* to be pregnant, or maybe they don't at all, but suspect that they may be anyway, but it is still too early to tell and so they are looking for "signs" that they are pregnant that could come before a positive pregnancy test.  Like implantation bleeding...or something like that.  They probably ask because they are so anxious and are looking for Hope that they either are or are not.

today, this lady was going on and on about how she thought she was pregnant, and her questions headline was "DO YOU THINK IM PREGNANT??"

so i answered and simply said "jesus go take a pregnancy test"

so, she wrote me an email and said i wasnt very nice....and im really not a rude person and i understand that yahoo answers is to help people, but come on!!! when i missed my period i went to the freakin dollar store, got a test for a dollar, and took it and it was positive. noone on here knows.

and then the one people who say "i just got my period....can i still be pregnant????""

I so agree with you! And frankly I'm tired of reading the "I had unprotected s*x with some guy and have never been on birth control, could I be pregnant?"  Why can't people read a book BEFORE they commit themselves to having s*x.

I think this question should be banned from YA. I think it should violate terms of service to ask this question because it is a  redundant,silly and inane question.
