LOL. Have you, as a teacher, with 16+ years of study behind you, ever been asked this question by some pimply adolescent who's failing Year 9?

  1. ROFLMAO! That is funny!

I haven't had 16 years on the job, however I have been in Special Ed for around 10 years in total. So when I get asked if I am a "real teacher" I have to have a giggle...technically I'm not, but I have done continuous study, and I do have just as much paperwork! lmao!

  2. so far, nobody has try to ask me that way... and if ever, for sure, he/she will get a sarcastic remark as well. that is totally absurd. maybe, if there are people who are not capable of teaching... so that is the question to them. and I am glad I have never encounter this.

  3. Not in those words, but I've had the following, similar situation happen to me twice now:

I'm a college professor, and at the end of a tiring, 18-hour day at work, as my 7-10 class is ending, a graduate student asks me, "Do you just teach, or do you also have a job?"

  4. I can honestly say that no-one's ever asked me that.

  5. Teachers are more like parents when the kids are that age....

    Don't take it perso....

Going on 30 now,  I remember how I used to see them. Not like a boss or teacher, but like a parent.

Big up yourself.....realise you're a father figure to thousands of kids!!

  6. If you've been teaching long enough , you've probably heard  all kinds of variations to this kind of question: Do you like kids ; Do you like teaching ; Why do you like teaching this (H.S. subject) stuff so much ?? On and on....

The comeback to your question is ," are you sure that you're a real student?"
