  1. Yes, atheist are shown discrimination often.  In politics, in schools, in the community.  People are not allowed to show discrimination towards people of different ethnicity's or religions.  But people who don't believe in ANY invisible friend are freely prejudiced against without consequence.  It is socially ok to do it and you know how people love to hate.

Gone fishing...  If you are judging all atheists on a couple of trolls then you need to grow up.  And don't assume all atheist that dare to offer an opinion radically different from yours are trolling.

  2. really ? so are Pagans , so are Buddhists , so are Homosexuals in America .

I honestly don't care what an article or what Americans say about me .

  3. I think what he said was wrong and showed what a bigot he is. He says that this nation was created on Judeo-Christian principles inferring that other religions don't hold similar morality and laws based on theirs.

If we were solely based on Judeo-Christian principles, we would still be burning witches at the stake. We would still have slaves. Atheist would not be allowed to hold any kind of corporate or political power and would be begging in the streets if not outright killed.

Thankfully, our government is NOT based on Judeo Christian principles.

  4. Suck it

That's what i have to say about that article.

  5. yeah.

it doesnt help when the church spreads lies about atheists.

saying atheists worship satan, are drug using, alcoholic, s*x maniacs.

that they have no morales what soever...

this is what my school taught anyway. i went to a christian school

  6. Believers are the most despised majority in the World.

  7. Yes, and mistrusted.

I read somewhere that only 49% of America (or something along those lines) would vote for a fully qualified atheist presidential candidate.

  8. Isn't something lost, when we reduce the world to red and blue, my dear. Elemental stances in philosophy are more than just speaking points.

  9. I think it depends where you are.

I split my time between LA and NYC, and very few people that I meet have a problem with my atheism.

But, there's also the fact that people feel like they can say they don't trust atheists, but they can't say they don't trust blacks/Jews/Asian/etc. because it's not PC.  So, they may be quicker to say things about atheists that they wouldn't say about other minority groups.

Somehow, not trusting an atheist is still PC.

  10. Sorry guys, I'm a Christian, and I'd like to set the good example, I don't see anything wrong with atheists. I have many atheist friends. I tend to question why, ALOT :-)  and atheist are the only ones with some of those answers.

  11. people are retarded if they believe america is a christian nation.  Our founding fathers left europe becuase the european countries were CHRISTIAN countries.  And in those european countries, it was christianity that was corrupting their govenrment.  Which is why america was created.  America was created on the basis of SECULAR law.  As in religion stays out of government.  America is not a nation of god, america is a nation of LAWS.  Any government throughout history that was based on religion is shown to be the most violent and corrupt.   This is why america is a DEMOCRACY and NOT A THEOCRACY.   Keep religion out of the government or we will end up like Iran and Suadia Arabia.  And anyone who wants religion IN government needs to be shot, or shipped out of america because a secular government is the very thing that our forefathers fought and died for.

  12. I disagree.

  13. People love to feel self-righteous.

Christians like to imagine St Peter patting them on the head and telling them to pass through to the gates of heaven, and looking back as all the atheists and heathens are sent down to h**l.

It reminds them of the patterns they learned in childhood.

  14. Silly article.

  15. EDIT: Oohh, I thought you said depressed, not despised.

In that case, yes I would agree.

  16. All groups have felt bigotry against them, don't be so naive as to pretend that atheists don't show even worse bigotry and hatred toward Christians and people of other religions.  Atheist bigotry toward Christians is shown here on a daily basis and even allowed by Yahoo.  I had an answer removed for calling an atheist a troll who admitted to trolling yet she was allowed to bash Christianity without penalty.

  17. McCain is a conservative Right Wing Christian Republicon!

And as such?, should be ignored.

    Why??

Because  he, and anyone like him discount the opinions of ANYONE who  disagrees with them!!

Women, g**s, atheists and of course Minorities!!!

  18. I think it's an opinion not a fact. Besides even if we were, it wouldn't bother me. So, a few nuts have their panties in a bunch, I really couldn't care less.
