"Brown Eyed Girl" for Father-Daughter Dance?

Question

My father is not a dancer and I hate slow mushy songs. I want to keep my father-daughter dance lighthearted but sentimental. I am the only girl in my family and brown-eyed. I'll post the lyrics of the song by Van Morrison...what do you all think of using that for the dance? My dad and I can just shuffle back and forth and have a good time.

OMG That is sooo great. my dad and I are not very close though I try and try and try.. my dad and grandfather on my mom's side are walking me down the isle... my grandfather on my mom's side has been more of a dad than my dad for the past 15 years or more... my dad is kinda lively and silly like that though... SO I just emailed him and asked him for his ideas. HOW FUN!

I was gonna play that country song "You're gonna miss this" .. it is sweet.. and MUCH more appropriate.. not like he is going to listen to the words anyhow.

I think it sounds like a lovely father daughter dance.  I've never been a fan of the sappy songs, and with Van Morrison you can do a little dancing and some fun turns and have a good time out there!

Uh, sorry, the song is about a man and his love for a woman, not a Dad's love for a daughter.

The lines Playin' a new game and laughing and running hey  hey behind the stadium are subject to interpretation by the listener, but I don't think Van Morrison meant playing as children do.

But if it makes you happy, fine.

I love that song! That was the song that I was going to use for my father/daughter dance! ((my hubby and I got married at the J.O.P)) But I'd say if that's what you want, go for it! :) It's your day, you do it up the way you want!
