"Calls to this destination have been barred" When trying to call a friend.?

Question

I was trying to phone a friend in Sweden, and when i dial it nothing happens and then it says "calls to this destination have been barred" Does anyone know any reason for this happening? Thanks.

Sounds like your parents have barred overseas calls.

your phone company may not support international calling, or your settings on your account is to block ALL international calls, incoming or outgoing. I would contact your phone company, and asking if international calling is available, if there is, ask them to unblock so you can make and receive international calls.

Since, you do indeed have international calling, it may be that, for some reason the person in Sweden has blocked you from calling them???

you recently made international calls on your line you claim....

perhaps your international service has been temporarily disabled... some phone companies will put a cap on how high your bill is before they disable certain features such as international, and long distance services. They are the ones stuck with the charges if you do not pay your bill..

check with the provider that you get your international calls billed from... if you are unsure call your local phone provider, and find that information out..

Sweden, does have and advanced telecoms network and my guess it that the person you are calling has a service like BT's choose to refuse.

When you are calling from her to them, the problem you have is you call will have been stripped of the CLI, and as such will show as out of area. If they have barred withheld calls as an example this will include yours.

Try using a mobile to ring and ensure it's sending it CLI, this should get through.

I doubt it is choose to refuse or anonymous call rejection. Call 155 the international operator and see if they can dial the number. If it rings you know she has barred you if it does not the number is now spare or there is a fault. DO NOT let the 155 operator connect you as it is expensive but the assistance is free.

Take the hint dude, she's barred your calls from her number so you can't phone her i thinnk.
