"Chica" short for....

Question

I want to name my daughter "yeah chicago", because of the people in new zealand who weren't allowed to name their kid "yeah detroit". It would exemplify the wonderful freedoms of teh USA.

I'm serious guys, i think it's a nice sound.

Chica sounds derogatory in the first place. It's like calling someone s**y. But if you're daughter would ever ask you why you named her like this, that is very offensive, maybe even ignorant.  I'm from Chicago, but that doesn't describe the personality of your child.

I don't think proving anything to anyone is worth giving your child a name like that. I'm from Chicago and got much love for it but it sounds really stupid. I'm glad the people in New Zealand weren't allowed to do it saved that kid some drama.

Thats just being selfish and hateful against your daughter. That would s***w her life up so much by causing a ton of drama and getting picked n in school and stuff. Dont do it, thats just dumb and mean.
