"Community Service" project help..... Foster Children

Question

I have to come up with a community service project at the camp I am at. I was thinking of renting a place were foster kids could hang out afterschool;; play sports, video games, or do homework;; with other foster kids. That way they can be around other people that understand what theyre going through but not have the idea of a orphanage hanging over their heads..... IDEAS or OPINIONS PLEASE!!!! :)

I love the idea.  Everyone needs someone to talk to  that has some understanding of the situation.  It's a shame that the office that signs up couples for foster parents don't have more understanding.  My husband works a shift where his nights change every week.  If he works Tuesday this week, he works Wednesday the next week.  We tried to talk to them twice.  There was no way to make arrangements to get us in classes.  What a shame!

besides fun and games - sit in a circle. each one say one thing one sentence that comes to mind.  

games and then later another circle - talk abt life in foster place

games and then another circle - what they want to do after getting out.

self-realization is very VIP for them as they dont have any family member to relate to.
