If you know what you are doing... do you have any good suggestions to keep it simple?

  1. I feel your pain, and I LOVE all watches, digital, G-Shock, analog, Luminxo, Casio, Titanium, chronographs, and chronometers, Tag's, etc...

Depending on the stopwatch, just hit the lap button, as a car or person crosses the start/ finish line, and see if they are slowing down or speeding up.

Maybe the second lap if faster, maybe it's slower...you'll know when you click that "lap" button as the cross that line each lap.

That's as simple as I can make it, as far as recalling laps, if digital...you'll have to read the manual to recall each individual lap time.

    Good luck!

  2. The hard part is not messing up the whole time trial or losing the data by pressing the wrong button. Once you're comfortable with the buttons, using the lap feature is pretty simple.

Lets say you're timing someone running a mile around an American football field. The track is a quarter mile, so you'll be timing for laps.

    Hit start.

    Runner does lap 1. (1:35)

Hit lap. (Timer starts at zero)

    Runner does lap 2. (1:36)

Hit lap. (Timer starts at zero)

    Runner does lap 3. (1:38)

Hit lap. (Timer starts at zero)

    Runner does lap 4. (1:32)

    Hit stop. (Timer stops.)

Now one of the buttons (might be the lap button, might be another button) will allow you to cycle through the 4 lap times and the total time, which will be 6:21.

I hope that helped simplify the process. Now all you need to do is get good at knowing and pressing the correct buttons.

  3. Damnit, you edited it in time.  Well yes, it can be confusing, but I find if you hit the start and stop buttons alot, over and over, it resets evetually, so no worries.

  4. It stands for "Long And Painful" and initiates the hardcore training feature of many stopwatches.
