"Everybody need to shut up" says Andray Blatche - NBA update
All it took one was one game for the brawls within the team to start at the Washington Wizards.
Wizards were in a commanding position at one instance, ahead by 21 points in their season opener against New Jersey Nets, however they made mess of the lead and paid the price in the end by suffering a shocking defeat.
After the dreadful loss, the environment of the dressing room got heated and verbal fight started between the coach Flip Saunders and Andray Blatche- who announced himself as the proud captain of the team in front of the 17,000
fans before the start of the game.
Saunders, pointing to Blatche, accused the players of a selfish play in the second half of the game, which led to the humiliating loss in the end. Blatche unhappy with the coach’s comment immediately replied.
"You can't keep having me pick-and-pop and shooting jump shots. Give me the ball in the paint. That's where I'm most effective at. I've been saying that since training camp: I need the ball in the paint. I don't want to be the
pick-and-pop guy that I used to be. It's not working for me."
His uncalled for burst drew criticism from the NBA fraternities, who were not very pleased with his rather rude reply. Blatche, after looking at the response, took the twitter route to justify himself, saying people misunderstood
what he said.
"Everybody need to shut up I didn't call out my coach or team mates I said I had a bad game need it n the post instead of jump shots," Blatche tweeted.
This kind of response is not something new from him. He has temper problems and in his seven years with the Wizards, such outbursts have occurred quite frequently.
In the lockout period, Flip even gave Blatche a book titled “The 17 essential qualities of a team player”, however it seems Blatche did not read even a single page, because had he, all this would not have happened.
Anyway, this brawl needs to come to a halt soon, because it will affect the locker room environment and hence the progress of the team in the compressed season.
