Question:

"Farming" whales possible?

I read or saw something on TV about Norway starting to "farm" whales.

I guess whales are delicacy there.

They did not say how they are going to do it, but I would think they need a huge section of the sea walled off to pull this off.

Anyone else heard this?

  1. That is news to me. In response I guess I would have to say that as far as animals are concerned, the world does not need to put a new one on a farm to abuse. We have really done a horrible job at animal farming in the past and are just beginning to make up for it, but to then try to add another, one which is as sensitive and intelligent as the whale, would be a terrible sin and shame on us, sure to really outrage a population. I hope it is not so, and if someone attempts it, it is doomed to failure for a huge number of reasons, the least of which would be sabotage, and international condemnation.

  2. Yes, it's possible, and that's benefitable. They won't be endangered anymore because they are being grown and raised in farms. But it costs a lot for sure, the equipment, the space. They also need to research on whales.
