Also, what is the average measurement of side-joints and (top or lower joints) overlap in each G.I. sheet when used it in house roofing?

  1. The 'effective width" for a corrugated G.I. Sheet is 0.86m.

    Side laps is from 1-1/2 (minimum) to 2-1/2 (maximum) corrugation depending on the slope of the roof. For joint/end laps, 0.30m (12" or 1 foot)

    The minimum required thickness or gauge for residential bldgs is Ga. 26. But nowadays we seldom see a standard Ga. 26, so we use Ga. 24 instead.
