"Freedom Fast" fund raiser?

Question

is that a real organization? i really wanna do something like that. i saw something called "freedom fast" on Degrassi the next generation and i thought that would be a really good project for me to organize and set up.

so does anyone know if thats a real organization or is there one like it and could you please send me information on it.
