The answers to my previous question (posted in politics) proves that "futurology" is nothing better than random guessing. if futurologist.tv site can get away with c**p like making a guess for a Romney presidancy (which is impossible) isn't it's predictions on the future of technology also just random guessing?

  1. Futurology, if someone's calling it science, probably is apropos.  Scientists are notoriously poor in the making of predictions about future technology.

Top scientists in the world announced heavier than air flight was impossible a few weeks before the two bicycle mechanics flew the first airplane.

A futurology branch of science ought to be a source of constant amusement.  A way of formalizing the process of being wrong, you might say.

  2. You've hit the nail on the head.

Speculation, from Presidential Elections to Stock Market Futures, to End Times prediction- remains and probably always will be a Pseudo-Science.
