I have a recipe that calls for "grainy mustard"- does this dijon?

  1. whole grain mustard is just that, you can see the grains of mustard in it.  Dijon mustard can be whole grain or smooth, it is just a style of mustard either made or named after Dijon France.


  2. there is more grainy mustard than dijon...but no big deal, you can use dijon


  3. You could use dijon.  There are some that still have the whole mustard seeds in it.  Dijon usually has wine in it, and that changes the flavor, although it is very good.

    A completely grainy mustard would be "POMMERY MUSTARD".  You can usually find a few different brands at the grocery store.
