"Ghosts", paranormal sightings and the like - artifacts of the 4th dimension?

If we do actually exist in at least 4 dimensions, and we happen to travel only "forward" in the 4th dimension, couldn't wierd sightings merely be objects passing through our 3 dimensions at a different angle in the 4th

Good question. Maybe that's possible. I'm not a scientist...but I understand what you mean.But...if they've already been in our dimension..why would they want to pass through it again?? I guess that would mean that the world won't "end" on 2012...we'll just go into another dimension. (I'm not even sure what I'm talking about! lol)

Not likely, but that's what people think "rods" are, 4th dimensional objects passing through.

Probably not but I applaud your thinking and questioning in scientific terms.

I would suggest the the books "Flatland" and "The Elegant Universe" in order to increase your understanding of dimensions and super string theory.

If we encounter a dimension not in our three it is unlikely we could perceive it in any recognizable way.

It's possible, but I can think of a much simpler explanation.

The angle that you mention is due to our relative speed compared to a distant observer. This observer sees the same things that we do but in a different order. But since this angle is fixed (or at least constant during the time that we are observing) there is no way that a wierd object for sighting would appear to our view. I appreciate that you are looking for an explanation for wierd sightings, but it is not due to Einsteinian physics that this can occur.
