Question:

"Global Warming"?

What's the deal with global warming, the US is losing ground to China because we're too busy listening to media that tells us it's up to us to clean up the environment "for our kids". Don't get me wrong but I'd much rather my kids deal with a bit of smog than have to learn a new language because industrially we grew weak. "Global Warming" is a climactic condition that exists weather or not we recycle, period.

  1. I absolutely agree with you the fact that the temperature has risen 2% over the last 100 years that is a change of only a couple degrees i say that maybe it would be for the best if we were to change our cars and get hihbyrids but that i think is to dramatic and i personally dont care ill be dead befor anything bad ever really happens.

  2. I AGREE! The earth was here long before humans were around, and it will be here long after we're gone.

If people are so afraid to be hot, then why does Florida have one of the highest population growth rates in the country?

  3. "the temperature has risen 2% over the last 100 years"

You realize that the "last 100 years" created so much industrialization population growth. Nothing like this happened in the centries before.  Also, it only takes a few degrees of global warming to melt the polar ice caps and say, "bye bye Florida". Clean up the environment for your kids, it's for their own good.

  4. Recycling is expensive right now, but as comodeties slowly disappear, the price of these materials grows exponentially. The price of plastic, for instace, has stayed so low because recycling exists. If we were to stop recycling, the price of plastic would well exceed the cost of recycling

  5. It was also much warmer during the 14th century, and for much longer, than it is today. Cornwall and Devon were wine growing regions. Vinyards need warm, temperate weather for long periods of time in order to exist. Greenland had sustainable agriculture and Norse settlement until the earth got too cold for it.

One fact that is overlooked by the alarmists is that should any floating ice (as in an icecap) melt, the water level in which it is floating will not rise. This can be demonstrated repeatedly. Water simply cannot displace itself.

When you question the methodology and the research of the "peer reviewed" studies, you are not answered with reason, or any scientific explanations, but are downshouted with ad hominem attacks. Eventually the global warming panic will implode when people realize that lying, condescending social scientists have been taking advantage of the public's ignorance.

    (Gloria beat me to it!)

  6. In 400 years of measuring global temperatures, the temperature has only increased 3/4 of one Degree.

Ice expands when it freezes, that’s why ice floats above the water’s surface, and contracts when it melts. Thus, any floating ice (like the entire North Pole) when it melts, will not add any volume to the oceans Therefore only land-based ice can add to the volume of water in the oceans, not ice that is already in the ocean.

The majority of land based ice is on the continent of Antarctica, where the average year around temperature is more than 60 degrees below zero. The average temperature would have to rise by more than 60 degrees to melt the Antarctic ice cap. Hardly something we need to worry about in the near future.

Global warming, & cooling, has been documented by scientists over millions of years. In general it runs in 10,000 year cycles. People are basing their "global warming" evidence on a mere few hundred years. Yes, global warming exists, but WE have nothing to do with it. NOR can we do anyhting about it.
