  1. It's more government propaganda, the more interesting issue is the fact that people will be wearing less clothes by necessity and what will this do to police attitudes and enforcement.  In other words,  how much more will people learn to hate the government and police because of their intrusive actions.

  2. I think its a load of b****cks.

  3. I think the second line says it all:

"The risk of a fatal heatwave in the UK within ten years is high, but overall global warming may mean fewer deaths due to temperature, a report says."

Global warming isn't going to cause deaths just due to temperature.  It's also going to cause deaths due to water shortages, food shortages, increased diseases like malaria, etc.

If the headline read "Global warming may decrease temperature-related deaths", that would be accurate.  Overall global warming will not save lives, so the headline is wrong.

  4. Its called SUMMER, and its natural

  5. It says "fewer deaths due to temperature" (in the UK - tell that to people in many other parts of the world). It doesn't mention the more deaths worldwide due to the impact on biological / agricultural / economic systems.

  6. Well, it *is* true that historically cold temperatures cause more deaths than hot temperatures, but all of this is just a distraction.

We have much more to worry about than climate change, which is all just a natural phenomenon.

The global warming garbage is just a way to increase control and restrict freedom of the general public.  It won't affect the rich and powerful who are free to use as much energy as they wish.  Soon prices of everything will rise and the people will accept it because they are told it will "help the environment" when it will do nothing of the sort.

But why take a chance?  Go ahead and give away all your money and freedom with the outside chance that it will keep the baby polar bears from drowning.  Are we really that stupid to believe this junk?

  7. Many more people are killed by cold than heat if you include the diseases that spread in the winter.  The article is correct in that if it warms, more people probably will die from heat but overall fewer will die.  I am not sure why Dana apparenlty thinks Brits will die of thirst but I don't see that as a credible trend.  In addition, there is a lot of ignorance regarding malaria.  Some of the biggest outbreaks were in Siberia so I don't see how warming is going to cause more Malaria.  It is just another empty scare tactic.

  8. It is the usual drivel associated with global warming, this "may" happen, or this "could" happen or even this "might" happen. The Earth "might" cool considerably by the year 2017 and people "may" be fighting in the streets over loaves of bread.

  9. It probably will, yes. In the 1st medieval warm period, from about 800 A.D. - 1300 A.D., grapes grew in Northern England, the Vikings had catlles grazing in Greenland and lots of people had enough food to get by on. Then when Sun activity decreased the temperetaure started dropping, the food didn't grow as easily, most people left Greenland, and the ones that stayed died in the Little Ice Age anyway, and an undernourished population got the Black Death and their starved bodies couldn't fight it off.
