"Goodwill Letter" for car repossession?

Question

Approx. 2 years ago my car was repossessed as I had lost my job and was falling behind in payments. I was able to get the money together to make up for the missed payments and get the car back. I have not been late on a payment since then.

Of course this is still affecting my credit. I'm wondering if it was possible to send a goodwill letter, has anyone ever had any luck with them regarding a similar situation? And can you point me in the direction of a letter template or sample letter for this?

You can try this one, but a bank will probably not go for a goodwill deletion letter.

But it never hurts to try.
