Question:

"Happy Pregnancy" Fact or Fiction???

People talk about having such happy pregnancies and I am on my third and have to say Happy isn't the first word that comes to mind. I LOVE being a mommy and even delivery has been relatively easy for me but my first trimesters are horrible. I'm tired, fatigued, nauseous, and all together drained. Things get much better after the second trimester begins, but am I really the only person that doesn't have rosie rainbow thoughts during the first trimester?

  1. Oh God, no! I was sick as a dog for the first 5 months with my first and exhausted for the first 3 month with my second. I love having babies but I am really over the whole "I am a bloated, sick and cranky whale" thing.

  2. I know several women who had 'happy' pregnancies, they loved being pregnant and enjoyed every minute of it.

I hated those women :) I had a terrible pregnancy, so it drove me nuts when other women would be all excited and act like I was supposed to be elated to be pregnant. I wasn't, I was miserable.

  3. i have to say im happy to be pregnant b/c we have been trying for a 1yr and this would be our 1st child together....however if this baby is a girl(PLZ PRAY FOR A GIRL!!! LOL) this maybe my 1st and last pregnancy! im 10wks today nauseous, fatigue, lazy, had very bad heartburn the whole 9!!! but im happy to finally be pregnant!! good luck and congrats(i think lol)

  4. yeah the first trimester i was tired and fatigued who wants to feel that way when they have  full time job not me, but i guess i got through it now im huge with less than two weeks untill d day. My mother in law thinks Im crazy for not being in love with being pregnant maybe she forgot how its like!

  5. People are so full of c**p.  The only ones that are super 'happy' during pregnancy are the attention hogs that want all eyes on them at all times.

  6. Fiction.

  7. fiction kids have adhd a lot so keep your distance

  8. No honey I totally get where you are coming from!!

I LOVE being a mum - don't get me wrong but I don't see it through rose-tinted glasses - i'm currently 7 weeks pregnant with my 5th child (i had triplets last year in april and a daughter in march) and I'm finding it h**l - I get morning, afternoon, evening and nightime sickness, dizzy and light-headed constantly! I 'm also exhausted and dreading giving birth!! A lot of women I know say how amazing their early weeks of preganancies were and how it was so easy - for me its anything but!!!

  9. No you're not, and lucky you.

I'm sick, tired and drained all nine months, not to mention in pain most the time with my son now.

I hate how the media makes it seem like every pregnancy is great and nothing ever goes wrong.

  10. Hi. Most women are different, and so are pregnancies... I don't want to sound like I am bragging, but I feel like I have been having a "happy pregnancy" .. .I've had no nausea, no vomiting, only fatigue in the first months a little heartburn and acid reflux nowadays.

I laugh all the time, eat all the time and barely gained 25lbs, so I guess I'm lucky all along... Plus baby appears to be very healthy, has already dropped, is head down and all...

Daddy is happier and sweeter then ever, which makes it all even more fun. I had no mood swings (except hysterical laughters)

Everything seems to be ... perfect.

I'm just saying : "happy pregnancy" can happen.

  11. During my pregnancy... happy was not a word I would have used either.

I was sick as a dog from the day I was pregnant, til the day I had him.

I think the entire time I was maybe able to keep down one meal's worth of food! The midwife had me on several different medications that were supposed to allow me to keep food down, but they didn't.

I also developed pericarditis (inflammation around the heart) and had to have regular cardiology visits along with the OB checkups.

My bladder leaked uncontrollably the entire time (to the point where I had to go to the hospital a few times b/c they thought I was leaking amniotic fluid or my water had broken) ... I was HOT the entire time. I could be walking around naked, standing in front of a fan, and still sweating! My feet and ankles swelled almost to the same size as my thighs. My son kicked so hard that it hurt all the time! (Also - he kicked so hard that he would wake his daddy up in the middle of the night b/c he could actually feel my son kicking me when we were cuddled up at night)... My b*****s were so sore that I could not even sleep on my side or my back.. several nights I ended up sleeping sitting up in the couch with pillows on both sides of me...

Ugh. lol .. the ONLY "happy" thing about my pregnancy.. was when it was over and I had my son!!!

  12. no definitely not i mean i had a so to say easy pregnancy but like you said your 1st trimester isn't a all so happy time. i think after you get somewhat use to the symptoms of pregnancy then its a little easier for you. but everyone is different and some people have 9 months of h**l but its all worth it in the end :) congrats with the third bundle of joy,
