  1. Homosexual is still the correct term.

To my knowledge there is no other term.

Homo also means same.  In this case same-s*x

    Homozygous, homogeneous, ect.

  2. No, there is not a unique term to refer to homosexuality in animals.  As noted above, the latin "homo" means "same" and does not refer to our species.  If it did, homosexuality would refer to s*x between humans.  As is, it refers to s*x between animals of the same s*x, a phenomenon observed in many species.

  3. Homosexul is correct

the Homo in the term  means 'the same'  as in  'homogeneous'   rather than meaning 'man' like in Homo sapiens

So the term basicly mean  'Sexual with the same'  and can there for be applied to anything capable of sexual behaviour.

  4. Homosexual behavior is frequently exhibited among the bonobo apes.  They look identical to chimpanzees, and their habitats are separated by the Congo River.

The bonobos live in a primarily female dominated society where s*x is frequent with all other bonobos, male and female.  The chimpanzees have a male dominated society, but the females will secretly mate with several different males.
