  1. you know in spanish we have two ways to say the singular (you):

tú ( informally)- conjugated like the second person singular

usted ( formally)- conjugated like the third person singular

if we say: ¿ Cómo estás? .. it means we're asking it to someone we already know and we have a good relationship and we dont need to be formal then.

if we say ¿ Cómo está?.. it means we're speaking to someone very formally like a policeman, a lawgeer, an old person, etc...

in Spain, in the european spanish, we mostly use the " TÚ " form.

while in south-america they mostly use the " USTED" form.

    hope it helped
